Overview

MET Healthcare were appointed as Principal Contractor and Designer for the full strip-out and refurbishment of the Endoscopy Unit at Ormskirk Hospital. The scheme created four treatment rooms, separate male and female recovery areas, admissions and staff facilities.

All works were delivered within a live hospital environment using phased decants to maintain patient safety and continuous clinical service. The refurbished unit was completed on programme, fully validated and ready for immediate use.

Scope of Works

Turnkey design and build refurbishment of the Endoscopy Ward at Ormskirk District General Hospital, delivered within a live, operational environment.

Scope included:‍

• Full internal refurbishment including new partitions, ceilings, floors, doors, and HPL hygienic walling throughout clinical areas
• Construction and installation of four new treatment rooms with integrated medical equipment and services
• Complete mechanical and electrical installations including new AHUs, IPS/UPS systems, medical gases, LED lighting, BMS integration, and small power
• Installation of pendants, PACS panels, pressure stabilisers, nurse call, and theatre control systems
• Validation and certification to HTM 03-01, HTM 06-01, HTM 08-03, and HBN 26 standards
• Infection prevention measures, including HEPA filtration, negative-pressure work zones, and ATP testing prior to handover
• Reuse and integration of existing infrastructure where validated and compliant
• Phased decanting strategy ensuring continuous clinical operations and patient safety throughout the works
