Overview
MET Healthcare delivered the hospital-wide replacement of the nurse call system at Queen’s Hospital in Romford. The project was completed on programme, with zero downtime to critical care systems throughout installation.
Extensive planning and coordination allowed all works to be carried out within live, occupied clinical environments including theatres, ICU, NICU and maternity units. The project achieved full compliance with HTM 08-03 and HTM 06-01 standards, improving resilience and response times across all departments.
Scope of Works
Comprehensive replacement of the nurse call system across wards, theatres and specialist departments within Queen’s Hospital, Romford.
Scope included:
- Full design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a new nurse call infrastructure across all clinical areas
- Integration with existing systems, including fire alarms, medical gases, and site-wide alert networks
- Safe decommissioning of legacy nurse call systems and seamless changeover to maintain full operational continuity
- Phased installation programme aligned with hospital shift patterns and clinical downtime windows
- Validation and certification to HTM 08-03 and HTM 06-01 standards with full NICEIC inspection and approval
- End-user training provided to nursing and estates teams with post-completion technical support
- O&M documentation, as-built drawings, and asset data uploaded to the Equans digital PPM system
